🎆 Fireworks, Ice Skating & Toasts: Uptown NYE Moves to Truist Field!

New Year’s Eve in Uptown Charlotte moves to Truist Field 🎉. Fireworks, ice skating, and festive vibes await! 🍾

Uptown Charlotte’s New Year’s Eve Celebration Moves to Truist Field

This year, Uptown Charlotte is kicking off the new year in a new location—Truist Field. For the first time, the city’s signature New Year’s Eve event, CLT NYE, hosted by Charlotte Center City Partners, will leave its long-time home at Levine Avenue of the Arts to embrace the energy and space of the Charlotte Knights’ ballpark. The move promises an evening packed with festive attractions, added security, and a grand fireworks display.

What to Expect

The event runs from 10 PM to midnight inside the gates of Truist Field. Guests will enjoy access to a special extended Light the Knights Festival experience, offering ice skating under the stars. Here’s a breakdown of what’s included:

  • Fireworks Finale: A dazzling show launched from the field to light up Charlotte’s skyline at the stroke of midnight.

  • Drinks and Concessions: A champagne toast is included with admission, and additional beverages will be available for purchase. For those under 21, sparkling cider will be served to keep the celebration inclusive.

  • Skating Session: A $25 ticket includes access to the ice rink from 10 PM to 11:30 PM, just before the fireworks.

Tickets & Logistics

Tickets for CLT NYE are affordable, starting at $10 for general admission. For those wanting a bit more activity, the $25 option covers ice skating as well. Children under 3 are free to attend.

Parking: Secure your spot at the Mint Street Parking Garage for $15, conveniently located near the field. Parking can be reserved ahead of time via the Knights’ website.

Important Details: If you plan to visit the Light the Knights Festival earlier in the day, note that it will close at 9 PM. All festival attendees must exit and re-enter for the New Year’s Eve event, which requires a separate ticket.

Why the Change in Venue?

While organizers haven’t explicitly tied the move to past events, it’s hard to ignore the tumultuous moments of prior celebrations. Last year’s New Year’s Eve gathering at Romare Bearden Park was marred by a shooting that left five people injured. Truist Field offers a more controlled environment, with security measures similar to those in place during Charlotte Knights games. The change prioritizes safety while enhancing the overall guest experience.

Prepare to Shine

Heading to Truist Field calls for stepping up your game. Whether it’s a polished look or a rejuvenating skincare session, Charlotte has you covered. Book a pre-event glow at Le Petit Spa for anti-aging treatments that promise camera-ready results. Or take advantage of the Pearl Magnolia Salon new client discount and leave with a fresh style that’s ready for every selfie.
